Lens-Artists Challenge #89: A river runs through it

Spearfish Canyon

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river, and he is not the same man.

Heraclitus

Our travels haven’t taken us all over the world but, thankfully, to many parts. We’ve marveled at rock formations in the U. S. National Parks, roamed through old cathedrals in Europe, and tasted food we couldn’t even pronounce in Asian markets. But throughout all our travels, we’ve paused to look at rivers or oceans or waterfalls or streams. There’s just something about the flow, the ripples, the cascading that catches our attention and makes us stop on bridges or beside still waters to take a moment to appreciate the view. Here are a few of our favorite water features.

View of Prague from the Charles Bridge that spans the Vltava River
A glorious view of the Kafka Museum, Prague Castle, and red-roofed buildings from the Charles Bridge.
View of the Tennessee River from Ft. Dickerson in Knoxville, Tennessee
One of Knoxville’s newest refurbished parks is Ft. Dickerson where you can lean on a rock wall and catch a glimpse of this pretty site.
The Vol Navy gets ready for Game Day in Big Orange Country, Knoxville, Tennessee
A tradition in Knoxville: boats arrive early, tie up near Neyland Stadium on the Tennessee River, and wait for the Vols to play ball!

    1. Oh, the Places We See

Thanks! I loved watching that fisherman from a hillside where we had lunch. My stomach was queasy at that point in the trip, so I was glad to be able to look away from the table at this hard-working man.

Really laughing at the last one Rusha as the Vol Navy gets ready. The first photo and the Tennessee River are my favorites, being a wilderness type guy. –Curt

Thank you for taking us from South Dakota to Prague, TN, and Cambodia to enjoy the river runs through it. All were beautifully captured, Rusha! 🙂
