Coming Your Way: New Series on The Netherlands and Belgium

Harbor in Hoorn, The Netherlands

Our long-awaited trip to The Netherlands and an add-on jaunt through Belgium just ended. But oh, the places we saw!

In coming weeks, we’ll share sights, sounds, and highlights in the hope that you’ll remember your own adventures in that part of the world, or you’ll schedule a future trip of your own.

Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.

Beautiful Dutch roofline

Viking’s Holland & Belgium river cruise aboard Viking Kvasir thrilled us with daily stops from the city of Amsterdam to small towns such as Hoorn and Dordrecht and lovely river views in between.

Come along with us to see tulips at Keukenhof Gardens . . .

windmills at Kinderdijk . . .

and splendid places of worship like Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp.

The final leg of our trip introduced us to small towns in Belgium (Bruges and Ghent) as well as the city of Brussels, all organized and arranged by travel agent Lauren Gunnels of Ortelius Travel Advisors and Virtuoso.

It’s been a return to a part of the world that we’ve longed to see since the onset of Covid. And we’re ready to share it with you.

Please join us as we add new photos and adventures to Oh, the Places We See!

Travel the old countries,

Rusha & Bert

So looking forward to this series, Rusha. We’ll be making a side trip to either Netherlands or Belgium during our London trip (hopefully next month) and I’d be taking down notes from your experiences 🙂

There’s much to see, and by no means did we see it all. But the positive vibes are there — it’s great country, nice people, good food (chocolate!!!) and pleasant experiences around every corner.

Glad to see you out and about, Rusha— not nearly as much as you are glad to be traveling again, I’m sure. Peggy and I will be on a Rhine River Cruise at this time next month, a trip also postponed from the beginning of Covid. Fun photos, BTW. Peggy and I are now on the road full-time. We have sold our house in Oregon and will be using an apartment our daughter has attached to her house in Virginia as our base. Quite the change. –Curt
