Celebrating 50 years of marriage.

Interesting, romantic, friendly.  Sometimes up. Sometimes down.

Mostly glorious, but always real.

“Still lovin’ after all these years!”

Rachel, I don’t know how I missed your comment made so long ago. I was cleaning up my too-long list of emails when I saw it. Apologies. I usually get around to responding a bit better than this. I guess 50 years of marriage can mess with you a bit!!! Hope spring is beautiful where you are!

The future still looks golden for us as well. We know all good things come to an end, but we think we’ve got several great travel years ahead — if all goes as planned! Thanks for the congrats. We’ve loved the response from friends both at home and on the internet!

Thanks, Amy, for being one of our strongest internet supporters. Your words always come at a good time. We count our blessings for having had good friends, good health, and good resources for 50 years of good times. Best wishes for continued success to you and Happy New Year!

Thanks so much for taking a look and replying. We feel fortunate to be in this position — very little sickness and the happiness that comes with 50 years of togetherness. We know there will be some rough times ahead, so we celebrated today’s happiness with our hearts headed in the right direction, we hope. Best wishes for a wonderful 2018!!!

Congratulations Rusha and Bert on five decades of love and life. Terri and I aren’t far behind you, and sometimes we wonder where all the years have gone. But all it takes is one of our “Do you remember …” conversations to remind us how lucky we’ve been to find a lifelong soulmate. All the best in the coming year, and our hopes that you make it another 50. ~James

We’ve had many “Do you remember . . . ” conversations lately as we put together a slide show from old pictures to show our friends in Knoxville. What fun to see ourselves as we were 50 years ago and to know there was life before kids and professional obligations! Thanks for contributing great blogs for us to read, for always being supportive, and for seeing the beauty that we might have missed if it weren’t for your vision! Best wishes for a great 2018!

Thanks so much, Margo. We think it’s pretty wonderful as well. We’ve celebrated in Knoxville and with friends on the internet, grateful to all for their best wishes. Here’s to your new year and all the pursuits that make you happy. Best wishes for a great 2018!

Thanks so much for always responding. We feel that we have a bond as you and Peggy do. We love similar things and seem to be mostly patient with the other’s unique wishes for what to do next. Connecting with friends on the internet has greatly expanded our horizons and taught us much. Best wishes for a grand 2018!

We have really enjoyed your and Bert’s adventures and insights as well, Rusha. Peggy and I are fortunate to both have fairly strong wandering genes, and Peggy is always up for new adventures! 🙂 I have also found great value in the friends I have made in the blogging world, and in joining them on their travels through the world and through life. May your adventures continue! –Curt

It really is a huge milestone, and we usually celebrate by traveling. But this time, we wanted to have a party with friends and share it with our internet buddies like you. It’s good to surround yourself with creative, lovely people no matter where you are! Best wishes for a grand 2018!

Thanks so much, Martha. We are mostly happy and mostly content with our lives so far, but we’ve had curves and bumps in the road as most people have. We love being together as you and Jim do as well. Thanks for friendship and support. Best wishes for a great 2018!

    1. Oh, the Places We See

It really has been mostly glorious, but we’ve had our share of tough times. Any time you’re a parent, you have the potential for some rough times. But we’ve gotten through them and feel that we can face the remainder of our lives in the best way possible. Thanks for taking a look and commenting. We appreciate you. Best wishes for a good 2018!

Thanks so much for taking a look and commenting. We envy you your travels across the world, yet we are glad for any opportunity to see something new wherever we are. Best wishes for a safe, interesting 2018!

Thanks, Cynthia. We are fortunate to have had 50 good years together. And now, we’re on to even more. It’s great to be married to someone who shares your love of travel, eating out, seeing movies, and being together in places unknown to each other. I know you can identify. Best wishes for more success in all you do in 2018!

Thanks so much! We had that youthful picture hanging on a wall in our entry hallway for years. It just seemed appropriate for the invitation to our celebration party. I wish I could say I weighed the same, but the good times have caught up with me! I don’t regret a thing, however. Best wishes for a wonderful 2018!

Hope you had a wonderful celebration. Your comments are as sincere and adorable as the pictures. As for the weight, thats one of the few things people often like to lose than gain, I hear you. The last time I checked, “No regrets” was still the best way to live. 🙂
Wish you a happy healthy and prosperous 2018 and many more years of togetherness.

Thanks, Jodi. It’s been one year at a time, for sure. But how lovely to have a good friend to live it with. We are fortunate and grateful. Best wishes for more good cooking, painting, and blogging in 2018!

Loved this picture of Bert and Rush’s! Saw the card at James and Susan’s over the holidays!
    Priceless!

If you were in town, you should have come. We would have loved sharing the evening with you. It’s been a good 50 so far, and hopefully, there’s more to come. Best wishes to you both for a wonderful 2018.

    1. Oh, the Places We See

Thanks, Judy. We have been quite fortunate to love each other even through some difficult times. We’re stronger and more “giving” now. And we still love travel. Best wishes for a grand 2018!

Thanks so much, Sue. We loved our celebration party. Now back to reality — you know, laundry, supper to prepare, etc. It’s a good life even if it is sort of ordinary!!! We like it that way!

Thanks so much, Jeanne. You may be getting close to the milestone, too. It’s a wonderful feeling to be friends and lovers for so long.

Congratulations. Neither of you look old enough to have been married for 50 years. In fact, you could quite possibly make another 50! All the best.
