      Rachel, I don’t know how I missed your comment made so long ago. I was cleaning up my too-long list of emails when I saw it. Apologies. I usually get around to responding a bit better than this. I guess 50 years of marriage can mess with you a bit!!! Hope spring is beautiful where you are!

      We’ve had many “Do you remember . . . ” conversations lately as we put together a slide show from old pictures to show our friends in Knoxville. What fun to see ourselves as we were 50 years ago and to know there was life before kids and professional obligations!       It really has been mostly glorious, but we’ve had our share of tough times. Any time you’re a parent, you have the potential for some rough times.       Thanks so much! We had that youthful picture hanging on a wall in our entry hallway for years. It just seemed appropriate for the invitation to our celebration party. I wish I could say I weighed the same, but the good times have caught up with me! I don’t regret a thing, however. Best wishes for a wonderful 2018!
