From Russia with Love

We seldom are in the right place at the right time, camera in hand, with a few minutes to savor the moment.  But it did happen . . . at least once.  During a day of sightseeing in Moscow, we were scheduled to meet our guide on the Luzhkov bridge where, we learned later, lovers hang padlocks on tree-shaped structures, symbolizing their eternal love for one another.

And just as we arrived, so did a bride and groom!  We witnessed the ceremony first-hand with the wedding couple “in the moment,” pledging their support of one another!

So, enjoy the time-old Russian tradition just as we did.

And enjoy your Happy Valentine’s Day today!

Rusha and Bert, This is wonderful! I have seen several “locks of love” – usually attached to bridges, but never trees. So cool! Hope you had a lovely Valentine’s Day. 🙂 ~Terri

Had a great Valentine’s Day even though it was low-key! The trees were a phenomenon we had never seen. We also observed several outdoor weddings, so different from the US where they are all mostly indoors.
