Weekly Photo Challenge: Sea

The WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge this week is the Sea. If you’ve followed my blog over the past year, you know that we vacation in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, each summer.  There’s something about the sea anywhere that carries us away, but this place has touched our hearts for more than 30 years.  We see the sea both in front of us (the Atlantic Ocean and the welcoming sand beaches) and behind us in the waters that flow smoothly and rhythmically into the marshes.

It’s by the sea each summer that we reflect on the past year and plan for the weeks ahead.  After all, those of us who live in Tennessee only get sea glimpses occasionally!

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. Yes, Pawleys is an interesting place — quite old houses blended with new ones built after Hurricane Hugo. Bumper stickers used to say “Arrogantly Shabby” but now the shabby part may be a misnomer!
