Postcards from England: Christmas 2016 – Hamleys Toy Store

Dear Readers,

It’s Saturday, and Hamleys in London is bustling with shoppers.  And to add to the excitement — demos and wowsers of all kinds.  From magic erasable boards to flying airplanes, boomerangs, and bubbles. When it all came down to The Purchase, though, we brought home an old fave — Paddington Bear!

Ah, shopping in London,

–Rusha and Bert

Whoa, I saw those crowds. I imagine that there was a lot of queueing for Paddington with his red boots, blue coat, and red hat! 🙂 –Curt

There was a lot of queueing all over London — and not just for Paddington. It was a packed city, and we thrived on the excitement of the crowds and the lights and the city itself. Now, we’d love to do something like this every Christmas — it put us in the spirit! Hope your Christmas is merry, and your new year is oh, so wonderful!

Our five grandsons are providing the spirit for us this year. Now, where’s the eggnog! Here’s wishing you and Bert a great Holiday season as well, Rusha. –Curt

Bert wanted to stay! It was a blast just watching the young employees playing with the toys. (And a couple of boomerangs made their way into our suitcases!) Happy holidays!

That’s what I’m saying, too. So, we didn’t resist. We carried one around with us the rest of the day!!!! And now he’s waiting to be wrapped! Happy holidays!

It makes our day to hear from you.
