Weekly Photo Challenge: Rounded

Maine’s got curves and rounds, so we’re sharing a few for this week’s  Weekly Photo Challenge:  Rounded.

I was just thinking of whipping up some whoopie pies….old style like Grandpa used to make. I was born in Maine. Casco Bay is about the only thing that lure me from my Great Lakes. 🙂
    Thanks for this post.

Would love a return trip with a stop in Casco Bay. There’s still a whole lot of Maine we haven’t seen, but we can say we’ve eaten a whoopie pie! Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks! We’re having fun in Maine. In fact, I saved some shots of funny signs for a future post. Hope you’re having a great week so far.

I guess the Maine tourist industry has figured out how to capitalize on these. We saw so many in stores, and not just in cafes and bakeries. They were packaged so you could take them home on the airplane, too. Here’s hoping you’re having a great fall so far.

Beautiful pumpkins, Rusha, and appropriate for the season. I don’t think I have ever eaten a “Whoopie pie.” They look sinful. 🙂 –Curt

They’re quite gooey, actually. We tried one a great little bakery — it was made of two rounds of pumpkin cake with “real cream cheese filling — not the old Crisco kind,” according to the baker. And I must say it was delicious, but I could only eat half. Too much makin’ whoopie for me.

And the muffins in your header…rounded too!

    • Oh, the Places We See says:

Those blueberry muffins had just come out of the oven, and the owner of the little corner cafe in Castine put them out in the pan they were baked in. If you don’t think that’s a selling point, think again. We grabbed up an extra hot one on the way out!
