A bride and her bridesmaids standing in the shadows along Aviles Street, St. Augustine, FloridaJust as we were exiting a dress shop on Aviles Street, we turned to see a bride and her bridesmaids standing in the shadows. As we attempted to snap picture, the bride turned around and smiled that charming smile — not really a giddy smile, just a hopeful one — and I thanked her for being there because the scene made our day. We just celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary, we told her, so we wish you a long life together. The whole party smiled.
And then we looked right past the young women to see the groomsmen posing for the photographer as they cast long shadows on this oldest street in America. Made our day again!

Didn’t she look radiantly happy? Just how a bride should look. 🙂
Oh, the Places We See
She definitely has that radiance. And we just sorta surprised her — snapping away at how pretty they all were! Thanks for taking a look!

Smiles can light up the day, regardless of shadows. Good photo. –Curt
Oh, the Places We See
So true, Curt. The girls were so giggly and cute, I couldn’t resist taking that picture. And they seemed glad that I did!

You’re so right. We just hurried out of that dress shop, and there was that whole wedding party! It’s fun being at the right place at the right time, camera in hand! Thanks for commenting.

Oh, the Places We See
Thanks so much. The people and the place were beautiful, so we have fond memories of our little trip down the coast of Florida. Would love to return!
