At our home, we celebrate the passing of time with birthday celebrations. Not fancy. Not big to-do’s. Just simple family dinners ending with cake and a song.
But it’s this little tradition that we’ve all come to love — the cake with the askew candles placed by a granddaughter, some off-key singing, and then the make-a-wish-and-blow-out-the-candles routine. All with a little assistance, of course.
In the big scheme of things, perhaps, there may not be a better way to celebrate time than with the traditions of family.

Perfect way to celebrate.
It’s definitely all about family and close friends, right?
Perfect!
Thanks, Dawn. The cakes aren’t always perfect. But the celebration is. I know you have similar memories at your place!
No better way to celebrate than… I so agree. A beautiful photo, Rusha!
Thanks, Amy. The photo is a quick iPhone take, but it works. The memories are best. May you have a good end to your week.
Amen to that! There is nothing better than family and “Family Traditions”.
So true, Gale. And they don’t even have to be big deals. Just little deals! Thanks for taking a look and commenting!
So sweet. What a great moment you captured here. Thanks for sharing the smile today. ❤️
Thanks, Laura. I’ve been looking back at some pictures to make my granddaughter one of those Shutterfly books. I’ve been smiling a lot!
Soo true!! ❤️
And these little things just may be the big things! Have a great week!
That is what I truly believe!
