The Weekly Photo Challenge for this week focuses on the word Masterpiece.
Since we were at the beach this week with our family, I watched with interest as our son Jeff created special pancakes for his daughter and a couple of friends who had a sleepover with us.
I realize this is not the Taj Mahal, the Mona Lisa, or Beethoven’s Fifth, but to a four-year-old, her dad’s morning creations are masterpieces! For little Whitley, this is pancake perfection!

Palm tree, beach and little girl with starfish

It’s a dinosaur with a big bird at his back! Ah, masterpiece pancakes!

How clever!!! I don’t know if I would be able to eat them?!? They should be framed! ;oP
I agree! I’ve asked him if he’s kept pictures, because if he has we need to make an album! Thanks for reading!
Those are amazing- All I can make are lopsided snowmen and an unidentifiable mickey mouse! :)
Me, too. And maybe not even Mickey! It’s been fun to see what he can turn out!
These are terrific and I agree to his kids they are masterpieces but to me HE’s the masterpiece, taking the time to do something so simple but effective for his kids. I remember my mom used to make us snowman pancakes and we were thrilled LOL. Apparently she wasn’t quite the artist your son is!
He really is a good dad, and now I think he’s a great pancake maker, too! Thanks for reading and commenting.
:) very cute! my kids would love these pancakes!! http://holley4734.wordpress.com/2013/07/28/weekly-photo-challenge-masterpiece-3/
I’ve got to get more pics from my son. He’s been doing this since she was 2, I think! Thanks for commenting!
Wow, what a talent. :) Too pretty to eat!
He has a lot of fun with this. At first, he had a book with ideas, but he’s ad libbed enough now that he’s creating his own. Fun, huh?
Cute and clever idea for kids. I’m sure the kids’s eyes gleam before they gobble up the pancakes! :-D
Thanks! My son has been making these pancakes for about a year now, and I wish I could be at their house on Saturdays to see the other creations! Thanks for visiting my blog!
