Just look at the fish — scales and all — at Pike Place Fish Market, Seattle!
Want scale? Look no further than Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle! Scaly fish. Scales to weigh fish. Or scales in your hand if you let the guys toss one “atcha”!

Fishy hugs? No problem. Bring ’em on!
And on a scale from 1 to 10, I’d rate this hug from this always-smilin’ fishmonger a 10 plus!

Scales and all….I like that!
It’s pretty scaly there, all right. That place is a marvel — great fish, and fun, too! Would love to return! Thanks for commenting!

Lol…I love it!
Thanks! It was fun going through my photos. And when I found this one, I said, “I think this just might work!”
Agree with other comments here, what a terrific and clever take on the challenge!
You have to have a big personality to work there :) Great souvenir photo, as long as your husband did not mind haha, oh wait, he probably took the photo…
You are so right, Lola. My husband took the picture. The man was fun to be around, and it was a pleasure to meet him and others. I does take a big personality to work there, I suppose. And the ones they hire do a fantastic job!!! Thanks for commenting.
Great photos! Timely since you were just talking about this on my fish market post! 😊
Maybe talking about it on your post jogged my memory. Not sure where some of my ideas come from. They just come. Thanks for taking a look!
love your take on scale – with the fish < – ha! and hug – and so on a scale of A to F – your post gets a big A of rice job.
Thanks so much. It’s fun playing around with the words in these challenges. Appreciate your comment.
and well, I have seen about 20 entries for scale and when I saw fish -I was like – yes! but of course !
Great take on this challenge! 😀
Thanks so much! It’s fun to look through my pictures and see what I can find. Brings back great memories.
Clever! Thinking outside the box!
Thanks so much! And thanks for leaving a comment. Isn’t blogging fun when people respond positively to something you’ve shared?
It is, isn’t it? Your fish scales made me lol!
Such a famous market and I Have never been! Thank you for the peeks~
It’s a great market — so much more there than just Pike Place Fish Market. I can remember vegetables, flowers, etc. being there as well. And right across the street is Starbucks. What’s not to love?
We live I. The Vancouver area and Seattle is a great weekend trip. Can’t wait to camp in the area this summer. Any campground recommendations?
We are so sorry that we have no campground recs. We just aren’t campers. However, we’ve toyed with the idea of renting one and driving across country. Love your blog. There’s a need to educate the public about the joys of camping — and you’re a great source of info.
Thanks for the reply, I do enjoy your blog.
Love your take on this challenge, Rusha. :) You know this is one of my favorite places to wander and people watch!
I wish we could get there more often. I’m not sure we’ll ever be back, but the memories are vivid — both of the things we saw and the people!!!
You see so many wonderful places, Rusha. :) Blog travelling with you a lot of fun!
Funny, I was thinking of fish scales and weighing scales.
I thought of those things, too. But I don’t have many pictures of fish or of weighing scales. It’s fun to play with words, though, and see if I have a photo to submit that anywhere related!
Love a visit to Pike’s. :-)
Isn’t it fun? Would love to go back. I don’t know, however, who buys all those fish. Nearby residents, I guess, and restaurants. But what fun to watch the guys toss ’em out!
Great take on! Love your smile. :)
Thanks so much. I truly loved the experience, and the guy just surprised me with that big hug. A fond travel memory, for sure.
I use to live in Portland, Oregon for 17 years and loved going to Seattle to shop. Miss it!! Love your photos!! :)
Thanks so much, Kathleen! Portland has been on our bucket list for years, so we’ve got to get busy and find a way to get there. We would love a return trip to Seattle — so much to see and do. Also love the bookstore there — can’t remember name, but remember the quaintness. Thanks for reading.

You are so right. Would love to go back. Sip a Starbucks, Buy some flowers. Walk under an umbrella. And say, “I’m in Seattle!”
Wandered through last summer with our grandkids. Wonderful. –Curt
What a nifty interpretation! I’ve seen them throw the fish (but not for many years.)
janet
I had seen the throwing on a video prior to the trip, but seeing it in person is way more fun!!! Thanks for taking a look!
