Signs of cheekiness abound in Maine, and even if I hadn’t seen the DailyPost Weekly Photo Challenge this week, I would have wanted to share a little Down East humor with you. Most of the time, Bert and I didn’t realize what we had seen until we were past the sign or the yard art or the homemade “make-do” that endeared us to all things Maine-ish. For instance, take the name of this motel on Route 1.
Yes, you can stay here. It’s a legit place on Route 1 that even Alfred Hitchcock would love.
And then there’s this sign that told us how they really feel!
Kinda comes up on you. And then you smile!
But the best had to be this cheeky number in Freeport near L.L. Bean. Might as well get two — it’s the special.
