I’ll bet you’re right. I’ve seen mother dogs and cats get pretty put out by the whole nursing then, especially if the litter is large. But it’s still fascinating to see nature at work!

Thanks, Amy. We loved sitting silently watching the giraffes come and go, but when that little one moved closely to its mother, we were so happy to be there at the right time!

Great photo. It is special. We watch the black tail deer fawns nursing on our property in the spring and early summer. It is always a privilege. The little tykes can get a bit rough, though. Ouch. 🙂 –Curt
