2 (4-ounce) packages German’s sweet chocolate 2 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate 1/2 cup sugar 3/4 cup half and half cream, divided 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

In top of double boiler, mix chocolates, sugar and 1/4 cup cream. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick. Remove from heat; gradually beat in remaining cream and vanilla. Serve warm. (I store in a 4-cup microwaveable measuring cup and reheat right before serving. Not glamorous, but it works!) Makes about 2 cups sauce.

I’ve served this over ice cream, pound cake, etc.
