We rarely travel to the tropics. In fact, aside from a trip to Maui a few years ago, I can’t remember a time that the term tropical paradise had any direct bearing on us.
But looking at these pictures from the Westin Lake Las Vegas, you could almost swear that we HAD entered a tropical paradise — in the middle of a Nevada desert! The tall slightly bending palm trees hovering over the clear blue pool in this elegant resort appointed with fountains, outdoor fireplaces, and sheer water walls glimmering in the sun transported us to the tropics . . . even if only for a little while.

Thanks for the compliment, but that was a beautiful place so taking pics was easy! I was there on business, but hardly anyone else was. The place was almost empty!

Great idea for this post! I am not a Tropical Traveler either and couldn’t think of how to show this word. I should have taken more Palm Tree pictures in Las Vegas and Arizona. 🙂

I was hoping I had a picture of a colorful drink and cute little umbrella, but that didn’t happen either! I think these are called challenges for a reason!!
