It seemed ordinary. An early-morning Jeep ride through a game preserve near Kruger National Park. Not much in sight. Not many sounds.
But when the driver veered near this watering hole, something we’d never seen before unfolded in front of us. A convergence of buffalo. A gathering by the waterside. A find for those of us who never dreamed we’d see so many so far away.

A somewhat leisure convergence, I suppose. 🙂
Oh, the Places We See
Well, it was leisurely for the animals, but we folks in the Jeep were on the edge of our seats! A safari can be quite exciting even during the “calm” times. Thanks for the comment!

Great photo. 🙂 I might also note, these placid guys are noted for their ferocity. I once waited in a VW bug while a herd checked me out, determining whether I was something to charge. 🙂 –Curt
Oh, the Places We See
I would have been scared to death, Curt, to sit in a VW and see what happens! Aaaaggggghhhh! You are a brave man!! We heard they could be fierce, but watching them casually sipping water and standing solidly for a few minutes made us think they were in a zoo. NOT!

It was worrisome. (grin) I constantly had the feeling as I travelled through East Africa that I was the one in the zoo while the animals roamed free and observed us. LOL –Curt

Thank you for sharing these majestic buffalo. The enlarged size of this photo is even better. Thank you for sharing, Rusha!

Thank you so much for leaving a reply. I loved just sitting and staring at this scene. Something out of a picture book, or so it seemed!
